I iust came back from paradise. Sri lanka is truly still a paradise where waves are still less crowded and you can find places where the nature isnt touched yet. Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a surfer living in Sri Lanka? Well, Vivien is living that dream. So lets see what she says.

Can you introduce yourself? Whats your name? How old are you?

"Hi, my Name is Vivien and I am originally from Switzerland but now liv...

New York is known for its Skyline and fast city life, but, until the pro contest in 2011, who knew it was also a haven for surfing? Until I experienced it for myself I would have not even thought about surfing waves overlooking the skyscrapers of New York. I have only surfed in New York 3 times. The waves were always fun, but all I really remember was the insane cold. Let’s see what it’s like to be a Surfer from New York.

Can y...

California is known for being always sunny, always happy, and for their Surfculture. In my opinion, there is no other place like California. People are usually really relaxed and friendly in the water. You don’t usually find too many Surftourists, like in places like Bali. The people next to you in the water were usually raised there, and they have surfed these spots for almost all their lives.

I love California, and I get to...

I have travelled to a lot of places with my surfboard, and I have gotten the chance to explore a lot of different waves in different countries. It is interesting to see how many similarities and differences there are surfing in different places in the world.

Two years ago I travelled to the Philippines. I went to a remote Island called Siargao. It was there that I met Jasmin, a girl from germany, who choose to move away from h...

Who does not know the Boardriders Club?

The board riders clubs in Australia are local staples in the surf community. Even Pro surfers like Stephanie Gilmore or Joel Parkinson or Tyler Wright join their local Boardriders Clubs to fiercely compete with neighboring areas. The Boardriders clubs are making a presence in California. The one in the area where we live in is the Southbay Boardriders Club. These guys were looking for pa...

Every time I am stuck at home, my desire gets bigger every day. My heart is made to travel. This is not only any cliche quote for me. It really makes me nervous to be stuck at the same place for too long. I am a world traveler with two home bases.

One home base is for my job, and another home base is for my heart.

I love traveling, because traveling makes me richer after every trip. I am for sure not richer money wise, but tra...

Bali is a goofy footer or a regular backside tube lover’s dream come true. Many of the incredible Indonesian waves I had seen in the surf magazines and videos could be attributed to Bali. While we were here we shared the island with pro surfers, like Jordy Smith and Laura Enever, but Bali offers perfect waves for any level of surfer. I am a pretty advanced regular footed surfer from California that surfs consistently, and my t...

As a pre Christmas Gift, I spent some days on the North Shore of Oahu. The North Shore is a place where you can still feel the real spirit of Hawaii.  You can see the beauty of the Island, unlike the South which is littered with skyscrapers and busy highways. During my stay, I met three incredible people. Raul, Daniel, and Nina. Daniel and Raul were born in Ecuador, and they were long time friends. Nina hails all the way from...

If there’s anything that sets up a good day of surfing, its playing that perfect song to get you in the head space on the walk, drive, or bike ride to the beach. How did music become such an important aspect to surfing? That feel can’t be expressed with words alone. Take a trip down time with scenes from surfing’s history, and the songs that brought those scenes to life. Most of the links included have the scenes from the movi...

I got nominated by a friend for the Surf Trash Challenge 2017. The challenge asks that you go to a beach, pick up at least a bag full with trash, and nominate at least 3 other friends.

I went to the Beach in Hermosa Beach, California. I honestly thought it would be hard to find trash, because the beaches in that area are usually pretty clean. I was definitely wrong... I found a lot of trash!

I found two big balloons. These are...
